Fuzzy Control

Lecturer: Carlos Cernuda García
LVA-Nr: 357.402 (theory), 357.403 (exercises)
Registration: via KUSSS, (Theory / Exercise)
Time: Monday 13:45-15:15 (theory), 15:30-16:15 (exercises), Raum S3 058
First date: Monday, March 2nd, 13:45, S3 058.
Content:
The lecture focuses on fuzzy systems and how they can be used for different tasks, such as regression (fuzzy inference systems), and control (fuzzy control systems).

Dynamic environments require the fuzzy systems to be adapted to new situations. Thus we will also consider adaptive/evolving fuzzy systems, because of their ability to keep the fuzzy systems updated, providing long-life usability and robustness.

Firstly, after introducing the basic needed tools regarding fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic, fuzzy systems will be studied in detail. Secondly, their application to inference and control purposes will be seen. Lastly, adaptive/evolving fuzzy systems will be studied in detail. The exercises lecture is desirable as a reinforcement for the theoretical concepts.

The course is self-contained, therefore the students don't need any pre-knowledge.
The course will be held in english.

In principle, evaluation of the theoretical lecture will consist on a written or oral examination. For the exercises lecture, it will consist on a semester project. Details will be fixed according to the number of attendents and their background.
